Winthrop ? Crews will be grinding rumble strips into the pavement along the roadway centerline on Route 202 in Winthrop beginning on Thursday, September 18th.

The location is on Route 202, a 4.60 mile stretch of road beginning 0.08 of a mile east of the intersection of Route 202 and Annabessacook Road extending easterly 4.60 miles to 0.03 of a mile east of Welch Point Road.

Motorists should expect at least one 11ft. lane open in each direction and should anticipate possible delays between 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Bangor ? Crews will be working on Interstate 95 during the overnight hours on the Union Street Bridge project in Bangor. This work involves closing one lane of traffic on the interstate to allow for construction to take place safely between the hours of 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. The current schedule for the week is as follows:

Thursday, September 25th: The northbound travel lane will be closed

Motorists are advised to follow appropriate signage and detour routes through the work zones.

Augusta ? The Hartgen Annual Highway Report, released by the Reason Foundation, has ranked Maine tops in New England and fourth overall in the United States for having the lowest administrative disbursements per mile.

Additionally, the report ranked Maine 16th in the nation in overall highway performance and cost-effectiveness in 2012. In 2011, the state was ranked 18th overall and in 2009 the ranking was 29th.

Augusta ? The Maine and New Hampshire Departments of Transportation have reached a tentative price agreement with Cianbro Corporation of Pittsfield, ME for the replacement of the Sarah Mildred Long Bridge in Kittery. The $158.5 million construction cost agreement is a major milestone in the project which is scheduled to begin in late 2014.

Saco ? As the paving project continues on I-195 in Saco, ramp closures are scheduled for next week beginning Sunday, September 28th. The schedule for the week is as follows:

The Exit 1 westbound off-ramp will be closed from 9:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.

The Exit 1 westbound on-ramp will be closed from 12:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m.

Monday, September 29th:

The Exit 2A westbound off-ramp will be closed from 9:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.

The Exit 2A westbound on-ramp will be closed from 12:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m.

Tuesday, September 30th:

Augusta ? Crews will perform a joint replacement project on I-95 northbound on the bridge spanning Bond Brook in Augusta beginning on Tuesday, October 14th.

The joint replacement will be on both ends of the bridge necessitating one lane of traffic for approximately two weeks. This will be followed by a few daily lane closures for the paving of the bridge and joint seal replacements.

Motorists are advised to use caution and be aware of the reduced speed limits through the work zone.

It is anticipated all work will be completed by Wednesday, October 29th.

Windham ? Crews from Pike Industries, Inc. will be paving the intersection of Routes 115-35 and 302 in Windham on Monday, October 27th.

Flaggers will assist motorists as one lane in each direction will be maintained.

Minor delays are anticipated.

All work is anticipated to be completed by the end of the day on Monday.

South Portland ? Crews will be installing a traffic counting sensor on a light pole on I-295 in South Portland on Wednesday, November 12th.

The project will be performed at the Exit 3 northbound on-ramp. Crews may need to close off the shoulder for a short period of time, but the ramp will remain fully accessible.

It is anticipated the work will be performed between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

This project supports our Traffic Monitoring Program which provides the number of vehicles utilizing the highway throughout the year as well as changes in travel patterns.

Portland ? MaineDOT crews will conduct various lane and ramp closures on I-295 in the Portland area for high mast lighting repair. This work will take place after 9:00 p.m. to minimize traffic disruption but is subject to weather conditions.

On Monday evening, November 17th, the Exit 9 southbound off-ramp will be closed. Following that lighting repair, lanes will be closed northbound between Exit 8 and Exit 10 but the exits will remain accessible.

If need be, work may continue on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, November 18th and 19th.
