HANCOCK AND WASHINGTON COUNTIES - The Maine Department of Transportation will be painting bridges in Hancock and Washington Counties. The Hancock County bridge carriers Route 3 over the Mt. Desert Narrows between Trenton and Bar Harbor. The Washington County bridge carries Route 169 over the Baskahegan Stream between T8 R4 NBPP and Danforth. The work is scheduled to begin on June 3rd and be complete by November 15th. The Hancock County work will result in traffic lanes being shifted in June and July.

KENNEBEC AND SOMERSET COUNTIES - The Maine Department of Transportation will begin removing brush and trees along the northbound and southbound sides of I-95 between Augusta and Clinton on June 3rd. This work is being done to provide better visibility that should minimize animal and vehicle crashes as well as to let additional sunlight hit the road during and after snowstorms. The clearing along the sides of the interstate, in the median, and along the ramps will be happening in Augusta, Sidney, Waterville, Fairfield, Benton, and Clinton.

FRANKLIN COUNTY - The Maine Department of Transportation will be doing highway reconstruction and bridge replacement work along Route 4 in Franklin County. This project will complete the unbuilt sections of Route 4 from Farmington to Rangeley. The work starts at Dill Bridge in Phillips and extends nearly five miles northwest on Route 4 into Madrid Township. This work affects four bridges that carry Route 4 over the Sandy River. Crews will be replacing the Weymouth and Wing Bridges. They will be replacing the surfaces of the Dill and Meeting Place Bridges.

WATERVILLE - The Maine Department of Transportation is repairing pavement on the northbound side of I-95 in Waterville today. The work will be taking place in the driving lane on the bridge that crosses Webb Road between mile markers 125 and 126.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY - The Maine Department of Transportation will be conducting paving work alone Route 25 (Main Street) in Gorham and Westbrook. This project will involve improvements to traffic signals, drainage, water mains, and safety. The work may begin as soon as Friday, June 14th. Its anticipated completion date is August 1st, 2020. The project area begins where Route 25 intersects with Cressey Road in Gorham and extends east for approximately five miles, ending at the southeasternmost intersection of Route 25 and Conant Street in Westbrook.

KITTERY - Next week, the Maine Department of Transportation will begin making traffic changes to accommodate work on the I-95 Piscataqua River bridge, Maine's vital connection to New Hampshire and the rest of New England.

The I-95 Exit 1 southbound on-ramp at Dennett Road in Kittery will be closed to facilitate construction activities beginning Tuesday, June 18th at 7:00 p.m.

MACHIAS - The Maine Department of Transportation will be replacing the surface of the bridge that carries Route 1 over the Machias River in the Town of Machias. The project area runs between the intersections of Route 1 and O'Brien Ave. and Water St. Work will begin on the night of Sunday, June 16th. This project is scheduled to last no more than two weeks; it will be done by July 7th at the latest. All work will be night work done between 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. Drivers should expect alternating, one-way traffic during construction times.

FALMOUTH - The Maine Department of Transportation is closing both sides of I-295 just south of Exit 10 in Falmouth during certain overnight hours this week to accommodate bridge work at Lunt Road. The complete closures will be happening Monday through Thursday, between 1:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. Signs will direct drivers to alternate routes. Individual lane closures may begin as early as 10:00 p.m. each night, including Thursday night into Friday morning. Lunt Road will also be closed during overnight hours this week, beginning at 10:00 p.m.

PRESQUE ISLE - The Maine Department of Transportation will open part of the new Presque Isle Bypass to traffic on Thursday morning. The 1.7-mile stretch of road connects Conant Road to Fort Fairfield Road. This connection will help commercial vehicles avoid traveling through downtown Presque Isle.
